All that means is more debt for our country and higher taxes. And given Krudd has already spent all our savings, doesn't leave us in a good position in a few years.

The economy is changing, but its not possible to bailout everyone. So why bailout select companies? Maybe the whole world needs a good kick in the ass to correct itself.
Should do that anyway if you ask me

Hmm...will be hard to harvest those crops without running plant and equipment....

Harvesters have bearings and engines don't they?

John Deere is run from the US of A. and the largest supplier of primary producer harvesting equipment.

Food for thought?

Because those companies are global corporations supporting industry and business world wide. I wouldn't want to be a 1st year apprentice in Aus at the moment that's for sure.....

The vehicle manufacutrers are all but the tip of the iceberg (and the first big business's to go public with their concerns).......

We're all sailing on SS Worldtanic at the moment!!

Also if BHPB (as a whole) were teetering on self implosion due to the current economic climate I think the Government would take some action.

They closed Ravensthope due to low profit viability (commodity price drop)...... before it became a liability...... Good forward thinking by them, even though it's sucks that it affected the local work force....But it's nothing new for sites to be mothballed the cranked up again at a later date, goes with the territory.

Dear Kevin,

My car building conglomerate has seen undue hardship from the global recession. Please give me $1,000,000.00 so that I may finish building my car.

Cheers cobber,
phizzle

Dear Phizzle,

We would love to give you the 1 million dollars you asked for. But surely you understand, that we will have to ask you to wait until atleast the last quarter of this financial, after having already spent 10 times that on the 'economic stimulus package' provided to pensioners.

Centrelink and it's agencies are seeking to collect the debt back from the 'economic stimulus package' we provided to pensioners earlier this financial year.

Upon the debt being repaid we will happily pass on to you anything left over once MP wages are adjusted and administration fees are reimbursed.

But I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Kind regards,

KRudd

Dear Kevin,

I am happy to wait until the last quarter of the financial year. I will now go ahead and remortgage all my assets and trust that you will deposit said funds into my nominated bank account. I just have this feeling that I can trust you and with you at the helm of Australia's finances nothing could ever go wrong.

Having said that, I find it truly refreshing that in these times of global economic self-levelisation, a true hero like yourself has the courage to give away billions of dollars to those not so well off. When the time comes to recoup some of this money, I for one will not be surprised when personal income tax rates are upped.

I hope you enjoy our national holiday this Monday as I'm sure you won't be back in Australia until at least April.

Forever in your service,
phizzle

Dear Phizzle,

I see you are one who likes to remain informed so here is an overview of our plans for Australia in these tough economic times:

Income tax rates will remain fixed for another 12 months, the offset is that the tax on petroleum products will, unfortunately for those not in Government tenure, be raised by 25%. This is offset by an increase in tax on alcohol of 15%, 30% for 'Alcopops'.

This tax (alcohol) increase will be offset though through a 'work for the dole scheme', ensuring that 'New Start' clientele will be working (hard) for their $180 per week allowance and assist in keeping those from squandering it away on Grog, Win - win.

Macdonalds, Kfc and Hungry Jacks are all enlisted as the choice employers under the new regeime and are well suited to utilise this 'sleeping' workforce.

Those who choose not to comply with this new legislation will be removed from their Homeswest residence as a reality check of how tough life is in the real world. They will then have to wait another 12 weeks before Centerlink renders any assistance and another 24 months before being re-instated to a Homeswest property. This, you'll agree, will ensure total compliance.

Again, I thank you for your correspondence and hope you are in agreement with these changes for the 'better good' of all Australians.

Sincerly,

KRudd
Me @ Kirabilly, who'd have thought!
