It's silly that a small town like Perth has this issue with low lifes on or around public transport causing issues.

You can travel worldwide to much larger cities which have even 'worse' reputations, yet travel around without meeting the scum we have in Perth.

The issue isn't the transport system, but why there are so many losers roaming around.

If there was more call to increase security and the likes on public transport they probably would, but as this thread alone shows, most ppl opt not to take public transport, so they spend money on other things like road upgrades and the likes.

I only ever catch the train if I absolutely have to, i.e when I lost my license.

I HATE catching the train with a passion and feel sorry for those who do every day! Especially in peak our when there are so many rude smelly pricks and bitches that need a punch in the face! As far as the safety issue goes. I would never ever make someone catch the train out of peak hour times as it's not safe at all.

I have lived north of Perth all my life, and I used to catch the train to and from work every day, but I hated it so much, and then got free parking in the city, so I stopped doing it. Plus its cheaper to drive, I don't get wet walking to and from the train and I dont like large crowds of people..

But I regularly catch the midnight train, 1am or 2am train out of the city to Clarkson (so the full length of the line) and have never ever had any trouble. Normally there is security on the train, especially at those times, and even security at the station at Clarkson, even out in the waiting to be picked up area.. I feel perfectly safe, even in my drunken state, that I will make it home safe and sound.

I guess because I am male, and not a small, gay looking male, like Tino, I don't get picked on, but I haven't seen anyone else have any trouble..

If I was a female, or if a girl I knew was going to do the same thing, I would probably not suggest it, unless she was with a group, or with someone to protect her. Girls on trains by themselves is a disaster waiting to happen IMO

Perhaps if the court / police system wasn't so soft on penalties we might see a decrease in these transport issues.

Anyone see the news item on that TT show last night. Targeting graffiti. But there's no mention of the penalties being handed out to those they catch.

There is very little deterrent these days.

This guy in question though seems to be a random event though. Certainly not a common place issue on the Perth transit system.
