We need to replace park n rides with secure multistory carparks, if there were enough parking spots and the parking was secure i'd take the train every day.
We need better security cameras in each carriage, guards on each station and guards that ride the trains at nights. If criminals knew they'd be tracked using facial recognition software then they'd have to avoid public transport and make it safer for the rest of us. Those caught vandalising public transport or being a nuisance need to be made to do public service cleaning the stations or buses or risk jail time. |

Yep very true, it's the chance of coming back to a smashed window as well becuase even our cars are not safe sitting in those car parks. The cctv side of things isnt massive expence either. I sell Face Recognition cameras and software at work, and licence plate cameras, we have implemented these around places. and the cost isnt as crazy as you would think. Well at least to a business / government. But once this guy is caught everything goes back to normal, give it two weeks everyone besides the poor girls would have forgotten about it. |

SPOT ON, and I have driven buses for Swan Transit and Southern Coast Transit. Got in 2 fights over the 12 months I did it, one i got spat on in Fremantle so I guess you could say I started the fight after being provoked. The other was 3 late teen/early 20's dusty cousins sniffing glue on the bus going through Stratton. After a quick chat, 2 exited the vehicle via the rear doors voluntarily. One was not so inclined to exit on his feet shall we say. Same suburb accounted for about 90% of smashed windows from rock throwers who must've run out of spears after 40,000 years.....

The missus was already terrified of walking from the station to the car. Thankfully she has a different job since this year and drives to work.

I'm also a daily train rider at the moment; contracted to a company on St Georges terrace and there’s no way I can afford $30 a day in parking on my salary. My tactic is keep you head down and if anyone causes trouble shoot them with your Glock...everyone has a Glock right?
