It's easy enough to do, Ive done it a few times pulling out of service stations and whatnot. Even had the cops flash their lights at me to turn them on once. But the car was an old Mercedes that the dash light wasnt working anyway.

Can someone please fucking enlighten this spanner as to what perjury exactly is. I haven't the energy.

Perthzed,

We are all allowed our opinions BUT your wrong. Lying about who was driving a vehicle to avoid a ticket is perjury and perverting the course of justice.

Please see above which is a famous case where a NSW judge was jailed, disbarred, etc etc.

As such, don't think that it's "not worth the Police's time". It is, we have cops as members on P-WRX and to state it in an open forum, as you did, isn't a bright idea.

All the best to you.
I've already said twice, I'm a drug dealer. I think they'd be more interested in the fact I'm smuggling in millions of dollars worth of coke every year vs a speeding ticket?

I say the oppisite.

Everyone here, no matter what you say speeds here and there, does something silly here and there, makes a mistake here and there, life is busy, get distracted, thinking about your mrs cheating on you etc etc, roll up .5cm over a stop line, whatever, we have all done it at some point

If you genuinely feel that being a few km over the limit is "dangerous and reckless" then im sad to hear that the government bullshit brainwashing has finally worked.

The high horse in this thread probably needs a helicopter to climb onto.

I did the double or nothing thing - and to be honest fuck driving around paranoid about every single cm of road you cover for 12 months.

Go get a small fine in Jan, pay it start of Feb, lose license just in time for March.

Its not a perfect solution to the problem, but the world isnt a perfect place... and no on in this thread is either.

License suspension due to demerits does not look good on your driving record
(trust me, if you ever do appear in court they drag up everything)

You also must advise your current and any future insurers of your suspension.
Just drive to the laws, and if you do get caught again before any of your other offences are cleared, then take the "double or nothing" option.

Sadly, the fact that "spanners" admit to deliberatly wanting to lose there licence, admit to "misleading" the Police on who was driving in when an offence occurred, etc on P-WRX does nothing but tarnish us all.

I also take offence to anyone who takes a "private message" and makes it "public".

I can't believe this thread is still going.

As TJ said, we all make mistakes. The point is to accept them and move on. The OP comes across as trying to claim all the demerits are just normal things people do and it's not all that bad. You are given enough chances with the demerits system, so learn from your mistakes. I know when I got a letter saying I had accumulated 7 points, I took a good hard look at my driving habits and skills and made sure I corrected my attitude to driving on public roads. I would guess I've had nearly 10 years now without a dermit point against my name.

The things to laugh about are
- you were caught with a blood alcohol level of 0.02. Sure it isn't illegal, but you were also driving with no lights. Slightly impaired, no lights on and I'll guess a fast and loud car and you are suprised at getting hit with the biggest fine they could find?
- 'doing 10-20kmh over the limit in a quiet back street' means you where going pretty quick around houses where kids could pop out onto the road or the like. These are the places where you don't speed. It is all about time and place imo.

Go ahead and get another few demerits and explain for the rest of your days why you lost a license to your insurers etc. I personally wouldn't do that. But each to their own.

Also, how about an intro thread so people can find out what you are driving etc?

And I take offence to idiots that seem to think they have some understanding of the law, simply because they watch Judge Judy and then start lecturing all & sundry with their new found legal knowledge. I'm going to sue you.
