Looking at the Galaxy S 2 for the mrs (when it comes out) and seems pretty good so far but depends on which teleco's have it available will be the biggest decider as I dont really want to have to buy outright so I can get the provider I want.

There are plenty of videos floating around of the Galaxy S2 (I'm assuming you've already seen them...), looks pretty promising, provided Samsung don't fuck it up like the last one.
I liked the zoom function they have, where you place your finger on the screen and move the phone closer towards you. Not that I'd probably use that much, but I'm easily amused. |

i've heard good things about the new htc incredible s... is a dual core and comes on $50 cap with optus (the only ones who carry it)... i'd be changing to that if my contract with them didnt end next march. There seems to be mixed responses about optus, but i've been with them for 6 years now and have never had a problem...
here is the link on the optus website for the phone: HTC Incredible S | Optus Online Shop happy phone hunting :-)

Was in the Vodafone store lastnight getting a new replacement SIM for the mrs. Fuck the service in there is as bad as their phone network. Luckily there was a staff member sitting down with her nice g-banger poking out which made the time pass nicely.
Anyway there was a woman in front of me who was returning a HTC Desire HD saying it was freezing, shit signal all that kind of thing (shit signal etc I can understand being on the Vodafone network), but has anyone else had or heard of funtional issues with the latest HTC's or are they pretty solid typically?

I have a friend with a Desire HD running froyo, and it is laggy as hell.
The 95 versions of angry birds installed may have something to do with it, but still I would have expected it to handle a few games. Hopefullt gingerbread will fix this too (anyone know if its been released yet?) |

Currently running Cyanogenmod with Android 2.3 on my HTC Desire HD, battery life is amazing compared to stock and its really really fast.
