Getting my cars boost from 6psi-13psi and actually feeling a turbo under the bonnet instead of linear NA power

No ... Getting from Perth local. My phat fingers and PCBs and soldering are mutually exclusive. Was yearning for some audio warmth in this bit stream world.

Nice valves bro. I pulled this badboy out of a bin a year or so ago. Still works too, although it has a few little issues I wish to sort before I use it more frequently. Mid 1950s HMV Caprice. Originally I was planning on gutting it and installing a modern stereo / pc into, but my old housemate convinced me to turn it on one day and sweet tunes came out, so now I am loath to do anything but restore it.

nice, don't often see something that old that looks in that good condition.

That does look like it's in excellent condition.
Valves for me are "better" due to the warmer sound. It's because valves create even ordered harmonic distortion which are the choral harmonics. Solid state devices created odd ordered harmonics which in general sound metallic or harsh. The resultant dominant harmonics of a sound (or note) are what creates the timbré of a sound.

Snappers!
P.S. Andrew, if old radios float your boat, I'll have to flick some happy snaps of one my old man rebuilt a few years back. Was made in the 1950's from memory, luckily all of the valves were fun, but the cables inside were completely rotten

its missing some knobs, i am trying to find a cheapish online 3d printing or CNC service to get them re-made, and the ac-dc conversion is a little bit smokey, but even the couple of times we used it, listening to Am radio you can still hear a much warmer sound. so gut

It's not so much old radios although I am getting nostalgic as I get older.
It's more that as an audio engineer I have always had a passion for valve "sounds". In the first recording studio I built there was an input module rack that included the original SSL valve inputs from a mixing desk used by Pink Floyd in the 60s. The EQ was fixed frequencies and increased/decreased in 5dB steps (very large) but the sound they created was so beautiful. Warm, full of life etc. Luckily my mate has a specially built rack with four input modules from the same desk in Perth. He was smart enough to buy the "non working" modules and had them refurbished. Please send me the photos - would enjoy a gander.
