I made the mistake of buying a TECO also...noisy and quite basic features compared to the Panasonic.

ditto...the TECO is the living room of my house too. The TECO rep was coming out today to replace a part that is making all the noise. I am cross my fingers that it works or they get the sucker back.

Mine is the bedroom, and when I have it on at night it sounds like a car idling outside! annoying as hell, but i'm a heavy sleeper so get over it.

Hopefully Tony/Lee will be back at my place soon to install some new plug sockets and other general electrical stuff Definitely going to use them whenever possible now!

our install price is 550 for 1.5 h under and 650 for 2 h and above. work out what you save ect speak to mic (MY99GT) and ask him i think we installed 2 for him already.
The problem is the noise.. having three separate units is also ugly and will annoy all the neighbours.

Fuck the neighbours? I've had a fujitsu inverter split installed recently, the inside bit on high fan is much noisier than the compressor outside. They are remarkably quiet these days is seems. The compressor seems almost silent, and they use a big fan on low rpm to keep the sound down.

It's those old square bastards that you install in window sills retro style which are noisy, i can hear one about 40m away right now.

^ ^ agree with this..

My TECO unit is hideously loud... but unless you are stood next to it, you would have no idea the Panasonic was even on.

If you want to come to my place and have a listen.. just PM me.

You can have one external compressor running multiple indoor splits if you don't like the sight of the individual units... and yes, they are amazingly quiet.
