I think our discussion exposes that the grapevine can cause misleading arguments...

Fucken been here, said that.

End of the day guys... you can't bash Fred because his opinion differs to yours.

Alot of you are making comments based on shit that has happened in the past. I'd cut it. Right here.

End of the day. Verso. ECUtek. Both very good products. Kinda like an EVO and an STi. Same shit. Different smell

Everyone else has had 2c so I might throw mine in to. As far as copying and rebadging EcuTek etc.

I can attest to what I saw in the early days, and that was Pete using my car to gather data from multiple runs with all manor of sensors for factory ECU settings. Over many many months of theorising and putting into play new map versions, doing more and more data runs Pete, and other lads develped an understanding of how to build this local product at affordable prices. Since then I've never had any engine or performance issues. I'd consider this to be "R&D"

Thus WE the local WRX gang now have a local and affordable alternative for the slightly mod'ed street car.

As for after sale service guarantee a company having an ABN is no guarantee that you'll get anything out of them AFTER they close shop. Once Elvis has left the building him previously having an ABN means squat. This much I have learnt from Today Tonights expose' on dodgey builders and property developers.

End of the day buys choice and buyer beware. Lots of products lots of choice. Just leave the person and unfounded accusations out of it hey? Pete and the lads are good guys.

Rant ends now.

What about now?

Doesn't it bother anyone that Verso Automotive is not even a registered business?

I've searched both Consumer Affairs database & ASIC & nothing comes up.

The following extract is from the consumer affairs website:

What is a Business Name?
A “Business Name” is a name, style, title or designation under which business activity is carried on. That is, the name which someone is known by, when in trade.

Any person(s) or company(s) that are carrying on business under a name other than their own in Western Australia is required to register that name. This enables proprietors of a business to be identified.

An individual may trade under their own name (eg Joe Citizen), but must register a business name if there is any addition to that name (eg Joe Citizen Car Detailing).

NOTE: CARRYING ON BUSINESS UNDER AN UNREGISTERED NAME IS AN OFFENCE. PENALTIES APPLY.

They may be all friends to you guys & their work to date appears to be of a very high standard, but I'm not going to sit on my arse you let them take shortcuts or hide behind a webpage - if you a charging like a business, start acting like one.

My morals don't allow me to sit & be silent and allow this to continue to fester without speaking out.

Fred, with all due respect, you're starting to make a knob of yourself. Let's not let this degenerate any lower than it's already got.

You're probably right - I've made my point - time to move on.

It doesn't help when you've been exposed to a major gas leak for half a day - I'm higher than Ben Cousins at the moment - was told to evacuate the building :-)
