For oem: using a pass through socket and a 6mm allen key (or allen socket if you have it) for the fronts, 5mm for the rears.
For aftermarket: it could be like the above or have a hex outline on the top, ie 8mm or 10mm or bigger...

Either way, Mitch will have a large assortment of tools at his disposal

Yeah the strut centre is the rebound adjuster so you need a small socket that fits inside another larger socket. Most people just rattle them on but that voids warranty.
I ended up getting one of the fitters at work to bore out a couple of cheap sockets to allow the smaller one through and clamped the larger one with multigrips. Worked well as they don't need much torque/tension applied.

Mitch and Master D your welcome to borrow them, but it sounds like you've already got it covered. I was just curious how you go about doing it.

Cheers

Ah yeah, pretty much the same as the Koni's in my car, they have the rebound adjuster at the top of the strut.

I spent some good money getting the right tools to make sure that I wouldn't damage the seals or the piston in the strut, kind of sad to see a lot of people using rattle guns to tighten up the top hats (namely guides and videos on the internet).
Mitch is more than welcome to borrow this equipment if needed.

Bob @ WW once tightened up the coilovers I had to the OEM strut tops by using the weight of the car to prevent the piston from moving, then rattled it down.
Never had an issue with them after the fact.
