Sound deaden your panels, not the wood.

Agreed - If your concerned about sub box resonating then brace internally (making sure bracing doesn't lower volume below sub specs. Sound deaden the various vehicle panels such as the boot lid and rear parcel shelf to avoid "rattles".

Craig is spot on, waste of time "sound-deadening" MDF - it is inherently "sound-deadened" by both its weight and material nature.

But basics would be all the thin metal panels in your boot, boot floor, strut towers, boot lid etc - anything that will vibrate. You can then go nuts on the inside of your car - your doors, floor, under the headliner etc. Just depends on how far you wanna go and how much weight you want to add.

Okay so quick update on this I got the amp racks attached to the box it was I squeeze but fit and boot closed but I scratched the project in that direction as I had next to no boot space at all so now I will be taking out the spare wheel and building a new slimmer box to go there ; D for those that have read this thread the original box was a beast worked great but not what I wanted in the end so if you're after just a simple box use those dimensions they were great ; )

Now the plan is to have sub mounted in wheel well and both amps put on a custom rack I will now build against the back of the rear seat ; ) this will give me heaps of space in the boot and look just as nice it will however affect the bass it may boost it being that there is more air around the boot that the speaker can now push sound to osage through but a slimmer box may drop it also so we will see I'm confident it will be okay though : )

False floor is all in and will post up pics tonight it looks real good all I need now is to carpet it ; )

And if you're wondering about the spare wheel I figured since I've got some new rotas coming I'd spend a bit more cash and put some of that goo in the car invade of puncture that way I can get home for spare or to a tyre shop for new tyres.

So the wheel well will be completely empty lol should have done this first haha Oh well at least no one else will make this mistake ; )
