In all honesty anyone would be mad to buy a car from Japan when Europe got as many special editions that depreciated a quite disgusting amount.

Dont forget that the Aussie import laws apply to cars coming from all over the world and not just Japan. Its just that for a long long time Japan was the most convenient place to ship from and enjoyed a decent exchange rate.

What cars are avaibale in NZ? I know there are barely any import laws there so the place has been flooded with cars meaning they are dirt cheap.

On a side note, I REALLY want the seats from an S204. Considering the market Impreza's are aimed at I always thought they seating arangment for the front row was somewhat strange.

a little off-topic but i don't want to start another thread scoobygez styles, so here goes.

been trying to find out more about my s-series and i thought contacting subaru australia this would be a good starting point, WRONG!

Dear Mr Casas,

Thank you for your email to Feedback at Subaru Australia.

Regarding your enquiry in relation to your Impreza STI S201 version,
please be advised your vehicle is not an official Australian
Specification Subaru, therefore we do not have any details,
specifications or history on the S201 version.

Kind Regards,

Gianni Carboni

Subaru (Aust) Pty Ltd

Dear Ramon,

Thank you for your follow-up email to us.

We would suggest finding out the country of origin of your limited
edition STI vehicle. That means where it was originally sold or exported
to and then try to contact the official distributor of Subaru in that
country.

Unfortunately as previously advised we do not have any official
specifications or features on your vehicle.

Kind Regards,

Gianni Carboni

"Sorry this is part of the programming of the ECU and we cannot assist."

A few emails later telling them that its just a graph on a piece of paper..

"Well since you know so much about what it is, why not try contacting the turbo manufacturer direct?"

Contact IHI...

"Sorry, due to our contracts with FHI, please contact Subaru directly as they will be able to assist with this."
