Is it gravel or tarmac? you do know you can legally put a 6 speed in a gc8 as it was homologated with one, i had a copy of the homologation papers for i think group n and you are allowed to run a 6 slotter!

Might not be well known but you can!

Ah yes track cars, DO NOT BUILD YOUR OWN, far cheaper to wait, keep saving and buy one done, I know of a EVO 9 RS fully caged here in Perth that is for sale at $40k, the car was $48k from TMR, cage and prep $15k, Supertraction diffs $10k, Alcons $4.5k, seats, Motec etc etc, car would have cost $100k +
No disrespect but I would not be starting with a GC8, costs the same to cage and fit out a new STI and like EVO's the later Subaru's (GD's) were quicker.

He's going to change his signature anyway. That bloody great thing takes 5 minutes to scroll past on an iPhone... and you can see how many posts he's got above this one: i now have calluses from scrolling just that last page alone!

But on topic: I'm every bit as interested in thus as Kym because I'm in the same boat: want to look into either a dedicated track car (get a pre-done, stripped car like an older GC8) or go the route of, for example, an 05 STi and do a slow build.
So keep the opinions, suggestions and knowledge coming! Thanks guys
