Someone in WA has already asked if they would allow a WRC car at Targa Tas. They were very politely told no. The issue with the wrc car is the running of it. I.e the full time engineer for the gearbox, you wont get 600 km's out of a rear diff etc.

And good luck registering a wrc car.....

Excuse my ignorance but are you serious about them being so fragile?

Very much so. Current day stuff is build to such fine tolerances it pretty much needs a rebuild after each rally.

They are not fragile, but just on the limit.

It's why things like the F1 now have a limit on engines to build some reliability into the sport. If you knew it only had to go a few hundred kms before you could pull it out (and money was not a consideration) you would maximise every last thing out of it.

Mind you an Evo 6 won the championship this year running on pump fuel and it is not a super expensive build. Just being well driven....by a female....

I still think it would be uber cool though!

Or you could sit down, do the sums and go fark it, build an evo for way less and have a faster car. I love the 22B and it was my original plan to build one or a replica, but the cost just got silly and the subie shortfalls (TMIC etc) just stopped making sense. The EMO is a much better starting platform. Although I am preeching to the converted eh Brendon? Other than a Porka 996TT or a Ztune, I think an EMO VII would eb the weapon of choice....a proper VII, wouldnt need to be a 7,8,9.

Good effort by Sammy, but to put it in perspective, most of the top 5 of EM last year werent there this year. (Newton, Snowy, Ayers, Rickard, Shaw, Dowie etc.

Would love to have a nice example in the shed, but as an earlier post mentioned, would have a 34NUR for the same $$.

Stop trying to introduce any logic here Blaise!! There is no doubt a VII would be a better thing but nowhere near as cool. There we 30 something evo's there this year and only 1 gc8.

If i wanted to have a crack at EM i would buy the red 9RS on my105 and back date it to a VII. Relatively cheap, reliable and you can get parts easily enough at a reasonable rate.

Brendon

By the time you kit out a 35 to make it competitive, you are looking at 200k

Hearing ya Brendon. Am now off down the illogical path. (heart not head) May not be super quick, but should paint epic lines and put a smile on my face. Fun factor is where its at.

Would rather have a special 34GTR than a 35 for example. Similarly a 22B than a new STI. Cars that give you a buzz to drive.
Master D and GTB Liberty like this.
