its more the tune than the amount of boost that goes through. as long as it is tuned properly for how much air is being pushed through, then it shouldn't be an issue. I think you'll do a headgasket before you "explode" a motor". forged pistons / rods / crank are stronger and lighter so they rev better and are more resistant to ping, but if your car doesn't ping then whats the issue? under similar circumstances a 205 and a 207 tuned correctly should both handle the same amounts of boost?

Totally agree there.....head haskets can be the weakest link on a properly tuned engine running big boost. Also the way in which the boost "comes on" can also determine whether the rods & bearings survive....a nice gradual build up of boost will be much kinder on an engine than the "nothing, nothing, nothing.....Boooooooooooost" setups of yester year.

The way i always undestood it was, you wind in more boost to get more power.
To get that extra power, you're using more air to make a "bigger bang"
Now bigger bangs in anyones books is more strain on internals.

Which is pretty much exactly what you get on a car with some mods, but no tune.

But i reckon its, nothing nothing Boooooooooost .. something something nothing.

Nice Graph there Rich

337Nm & 190kW is a great effort from your mods.

Smash some more psi in there and 200kW is easily possible.
