I run HSD HR's with 10/8, but having a 15 click adjustment on the damper can take the car from quite spongy and rather compliant, (1,2,3) to very, very jittery on the road, (13,14,15).
I'd recommend the HSD's, now what they have brake line brackets....... The ride isnt overly clunky, or bone/back breaking. Brent.

Thread revival!
I'm about to get coilovers and hesitating between spring rates. These coilovers come stock for the 06sti with 6kg/5kg f/r... Going to up them a bit for my use... What's a better combo 8/6 or 8/7 ... was thinking 8/7 to keep them within the same f/r kg difference as the off the shelf unit. This coilover's full racing unit with external reservoir comes with 10/8 and the soft street version 6/5 .... thought 8/7 is good middle ground?

I did mate... but suspension shop know tyres/wheels and then their own brand of coilovers more...didn't seem to know much in terms of spring rates for these ones.
Its just a general query in that post, as in if one's racing springs were 10/8 and soft street were 6/5, then would 8/7 be a good middle ground or 8/6... anyway I don't think anyone would have the right answer for me, I'm just going to have to try it. Edit: AU distributor/supplier said go with 8/7 as it keeps a similar f/r spring ratio as the stock 6/5 but that's just 1kg off the rate of the racing version rears....might go 8/6, probably be a bit easier to live with.

I vote for 8/7. Kw is 7/5, my std is 8/8, feel a bit boucy at the rear though, stock betty is 4/3, new sti is 5.5/5. I think subaru has 65/35 weight distribution, unless u go track days with lots of weight teansfer, front should be higher by 1 or 2, is this right?
But each shock is normally shock dyno tested with matched spring rate. If u change spring rate, u might not get the performance u r after. using the Perth-WRX mobile app

He would have seen a fair share of Subaru's coming through the door with an array of suspension setups. I've run HSDs in the past with either 7/7 or 8/8 and now run 6/6 (non coilover setup).
