Subaru Wangara, across the road from you, pricing would be very similar

Subaru Wangara is busy this week they said. They quoted me from $1700-$2500, depending on if its the single or double clutch? (i dont know what they on about)

STechnic said they can do it, but they busy and will work on my car in and around their jobs, so theres a possibility it wont be fixed before Saturday. That was quoted at $1395 for a clutch and max 700 for a new flywheel (if i dont choose to get it machined etc)

Evo R quoted me for the excedy stage 3 clutch for the price on their forum page. (the cheapest of them all) and they said i can bring my car in tuesday arvo, they can start it wednesday and have it finished by friday lunchtime max. So i think i might go with Evo

See you guys at Evo tuesday afternoon

still sounds more like clutch fluid/hydraulic leak to me as it does strange things, happened to me a couple months ago.
I also have a blown clutch now and symptoms are different, but will be changing it myself. but good to know the labour costs if i choose not to

The clutch friction disc has disintegrated and no drive is getting to the gearbox from the engine. That will be why you can change gears regardless of the pedal position, effectively the clutch is disengeged all the time.

It's not common to require a new flywheel, usually they can be machined back to new specs. Sometimes they are so badly cracked that an exchange flywheel is used instead of machining your old one. Only if you chose an upgraded CrMo or Alloy flywheel would the cost be potentially up to $700.

Brand new Exedy Light weight flywheel (6Kg) from ebay USA... $400 landed.

Otherwise if you cant pick up a good second hand OEM flywheel for under $100 you aren't looking hard enough. I may have one lying around if you need it.
