Thats the only reason I can think that they're at their limit.
Must get on dyno
hmm. new or not, doesnt take much to clog the baskets etc!

I'll try and get it up today if I have time Nath. You were right about the injectors. She's running a bit lean and the injectors are almost maxed out. Plus the boost control needs a bit of work. If only I had access to a dyno all the time.
Lane said that because I can't do 4th gear runs on the road is why the manifold pressure fluctuating didn't show up for me

Are you going to go bigger injectors mate. Mine showed up as soon as it was getting tuned, but better with these ones now. How much boost are you running?

I've attached a pdf of the run. You can see how lean its running, 12.5:1!!!
And the boost is all over the place
I'll try and get an image up, I've forgotten my log in for imageshack

Hey John.

I'm not being smart, but did they actually give you the car back like this? I'm far from being an expert, but air fuel ratios above 11.5 when on boost, has always been known to be bad news on 98 pump fuel.

Maybe turn your boost down for now, until you can get some larger injectors?

It was only a run to check power and A/F ratios. Nothing more.
I had a good chat to the tuner at Racetorque about it, and he gave his advice on why the tune is the way it is.
But your right, it does need bigger injectors

Hey John,

So where was the car tuned initially? I only ask as you have obviously invested significant time and money into this build & the tune does not seem to reflect the final piece in the puzzle. I do not mean this in terms of the power / torque you have made, but more in the AFR's and the safety factor the car was tuned to.

I also don't understand why the dyno operator didn't abort the run, once the fuel ratio was as it was on full boost. Maybe the operator was used to tuning on E85? Even with E85 though, those numbers are still touching lean. I am sure the car is still safe though and not producing knock. Does the link have knock control do you know?

Anyways, congrats on getting the car to where it is, thats a nice early torque curve, especially for a 2ltr with a big turbo & quite hefty cams. As you said, get some bigger injectors & happy days.
