This is an IPhone spec picture of stock(version vi) v name brand v ebay spec.
The name brand appeared to be better quality, with a spring embedded in it as well, where the cheapo did not.I purchased the name brand one when i thought the cheapo did not fit , but then found they fitted equally well.I tried to fit mine by without removing the manifold but could not get it onto the turbo .i also needed to modify the bov return pipe as it was too long for the new part, you cannot see length comparasin as the stock was section was removed with a chisel to allow the intake to be slid out without the manifold removal.
And as said before this job will do your head in if you dont know what you are doing

In terms of performance I was under the imression that the main benefit was helping reduce lag albeit marginally?

I doubt you will reduce lag just buy fittin the intake, seeing as the pipe diameter of the intake pipe and turbo are the same

That's what I was thinking, it's more of a reliability upgrade than a performance upgrade.

yeah it is, you may get a change in induction note, but thats more likely with metal intake pipes

Yeah but how much are you willing to pay? eBayspec ranges from $70 - $120, local I'd imagine your looking at $150+
