Yes AVO looks awesome but at ~$400 that's just crazy talk for a WRX like mine.

~$200 is the limit I'm willing to spend.

T-REXX - PM sent.

Remember the AVO one includes more piping. Other ones you will need to buy other pieces (short fat bits or whatever people call them).

So whilst it is more upfront, check the over all price comparison. It's probably still dearer though!

Woooooo hold on a second...

So if you go a silicone intake "Perrin or eBayspec etc.." it wont just push onto the turbo and the MAF pipe?

Unless Perrin or eBayspec make 2 different lengths, then no..

The AVO is a longer pipe, includes the section normally known as the "short fat bit".. basically you just get yourself a 3" pod adaptor (with or without AFM provision, depending on what ECU you're running), slip it into the opening of the AVO intake pipe and clamp it down.. the pod goes on the other side.

Simple as that!

So this is not an eBaySpec pipe because it doesnt require the so called short fat bit?

Thats a short pipe.. see the corrugated plastic pipe in front of it? Thats the OEM equivalent of the "short fat bit" that people normally fit to the short intake pipes.

Ok think I've got it.

Short eBay style pipes will work fine with an OEM short fat pipe + OEM AFM/IAT pipe/meter if wanted

Longer AVO style pipes are great if you wish to do away with the AFM and go directly into the air filter box/pod etc but can also take an AFM if needed.

?
