Default new mods on 2012 wrx

Hi all,

Just done my first modification on my 2012 wrx, now six months old.

Since I am new to wrx and all , the power gains seem a bit low.

The mods: full Turbo back exhaust 3 inch stainless steel mandrell bent system with quad exhaust tip and dual muffler, cat less down pipe, high flow cat after down pipe.

And

Ecutek tune on dyno, 98oct (awd obviously).

Feels really good and sounds awesome. However looking at the before and after power gains and torque figures don't show a typical curve when compared with MRT XB kit for example. I have gained 13 awkw which seems a little low. I can attach my dynograph if needed.

What type of power gains should be expected or have you guys managed to get with similar mods.

Thanks guys.

Please attach the dynosheets mate. I want to see if it's similar to mine. I'm not actually sure of what my gains were because i never did a before run.. Put mine on MMS dyno after turboback exhaust and tune. Said 170awkw. (assumed to be +15% power, +25% torque by guys at MMS) but i'm not sure how to convert the differences. Since subaru claims that the WRX is 195kw as standard, but i assume this is measured at the engine and have no idea how to convert awkw to engine kw.

To be honest I would have expected a bit more? Might be a difference between dyno's but mine put 165kW at the hubs stock on Mao's?

Yeah buts that's the weird thing. With this sort of mod you would get 30awkw. Comparable to met xb.

I got mine MMS. Recommended there by a friend who had dealings with Steve and was quite happy with it.

But Steve's passed away and my friend didn't know that.

The guys seemed nice, but they didn't seem to know what they were doing. They kept sending the tune to some specialist at MRT to fine tune it. I have come from Modding fords and I've never seen a pro tuner send it to some other guys to fine tune.

Seems unusual. But hey I don't know shit.

Maybe someone with more experience can enlighten us.

Yeah I expected more I mean I have up to 40awkw gains in the sub 4000 rpm range.but instead of increasing in the higher revs it tapers down. Check the MRT XB kit PDF on there website or this link

MRT Power Kit - Subaru Impreza WRX MY2011 - on

The torque improvement is gold though. If the bum dyno is all good, then I wouldn't stress too much.....

It wont increase in the upper rpms because the turbo is out of puff at that boost level.
