Default Bad vibration (2nd-3rd gear, 2000-2500rpm)

Hey guys,

Recently had an Xtreme heavy duty organic face clutch installed and the aforementioned vibration has gotten much worse.

Took the car over to STechnic last week and it seemed okay then. Doug came for a drive with me and the vibration wasn't that bad.

Over last few days however it seems to have amplified. When I shift up from 2nd to 3rd (just under 40km/h so about 2500rpm) the whole car vibrates very badly (not like it's struggling for a lower gear, just shaking alot!)

No vibration when I shift at 3000rpm or more (just over 40km/h...anything under = bad vibration).

I do have the bigger 18G on it so I don't know if I am shifting at too low rpm? It does do it as well from 3rd to 4th @ approx 50km/h.

I also have the whiteline subframe bushings (diff-lock kit) + subframe bolts + alk + rck (though these made small noises before anyway).

Am going to speak to STechnic again tommorow before the tuning arvo but thoughts are most welcome.

Cheers,
Shane,

Sounds like it may be a flywheel machining issue............possibly

Perhaps a defective pressure plate. Take it, it was a work shop that installed it?

It's not a clutch shudder, it's an engine or driveline vibe. Comes in when under load at low r/min whether the clutch is used or not. ie; slow right down in 3rd gear, then roll on the throttle without clutching and it's there. Kinda like a Diesel engine when it's lugging under full torque. Quite possibly al those tight bushes in the subframe Shane but if it's worse I'm happy to test it again.

Anyone else had similar issues?

Have the same clutch fitted by you Doug, only issue was that it had a weird rattle/chatter (wouldn't call it a vibration) but that noise left after 1000-1500KM.

Max had the same vibration in his liberty , it was a worn drivers side CV ( the section that slips over the drive shaft male spline ) He turned it around repacked the CV and drove down the road, the vibration is no longer there

I will call up today Doug and ask if I can pop in on Thursday. Sounds pedantic I know but I am by no means a Subie expert. Rather have the all good from the pro's for some peace of mind.

Just to point out it doesn't affect the performance of the car adversely, just very noticeable is all at low speed. Clutch feel is superb on full throttle, much crisper than OEM.

Thanks lads.

**edit** in tommorow @ STechnic to have another look.
