I don't have the ability to check under the car but this morning I rolled the car back and noticed a couple of small pools of oil around the size of a 20c piece. It was very thick and black. So thick the pools were a few mm raised in height. The car drives fine (my06 wrx) but I'm concerned that thick black oil may mean gearbox or front diff?
Any elaboration would be nice. The engine oil level still fine but I'm thinking i shouldn't drive it.

Ok so now that I've done that, engine oil is black & diff/transmission fluid is normally red in colour.
Buy some degreaser, get under the car, find where oil is coming from, clean up and see what needs to be done to fix it. Check your engine oil consistently as it is loosing oil. No oil means bad news for the engine.
