Default Group N Mounts ? For MY06 STi

Hey Guys

I'm chasing after peoples opinions on Group N mounts. I am planning on replacing my engine mounts when ripping out my engine. What are peoples thoughts on Grp N mounts. Are they worth upgrading to Or not? Should I stick with the factory mounts if I want to keep a smooth/quiet ride or do the Group N's improve it?

Cheers

Slightly more nvh inside the cabin but for me it was worth the effort as they made the car feel more stable and solid at the track.

If I didn't race my car I probably wouldn't have bothered to be honest.

I had grpN mounts installed on a MY11 WRX and didn't notice any increase in NVH under normal driving conditions.
The only increase in noise was when the car was sitting stationary with the A/C turned on, if you are able to increase the min rpm level for A/C running, then you will be ok.

In my 06STi, I have the Group N engine/gearbox mounts & the gearbox Pitch mount.
Added a tiny bit of NVH but that didn't bother me, the car felt much more stable and predictable, also helped for launches and getting power to the wheels.

BTW, the engine and gearbox mounts won't add NVH to the car, until you put the harder Pitch mount in - This is what transfers vibrations to the cabin, but helps a whole lot in keeping the driveline stable under WOT.

Do it you won't regret, car felt so much better after throwing these on.

It will definitely increase NVH, but it is almost a mandatory mod if you're planning on any track work...engine and gearbox mounts.
Will stop the 2nd to 5th shifts...

You can't hear anything in your car anyway RJ.

Another plus is the group-n mounts firm up the feel of the shifter mechanism without making the gates too accurate if that makes sense. I also have the Whiteline positive shift kit (cross member bushes).

I would have thought it would make gear selection better?
