was it made of carbon fibre and titanium?

I can't see how the BOV is making your car ping.

Backfire from dumping fuel yes, but under load so you could hear it ping, the BOV is actually doing anything.

PS: Do you mean pinging as in your car is running lean or just making a general rattle sound?

PS: I have had a HKS, Stealth, Hybrid, Turboxs and heaps of others. Some would get a backfire some wouldn't, luck of the draw.
