Default Wtf bov = pinging?

Hey guys,

Put a bov in today (Gfb stealth fx), had it set to 50/50 atmospheric/plumback... Set the spring appropriately (closed just before it hit idle) and it started pinging?

Seems kinda wierd. I thought bov would cause it to run rich and therefore no probs (pinging = due to running lean right?)...

Any ideas?

Luca.

Does it sound like a shower of marbles on boost?

Sure you took all the tools out after fitting this BOV?

IF it sounds like a shower of marbles... well obviously the deed's done.. some decent damage too maybe..

The downside of releasing the air to atmosphere is that it has already been metered by the mass air sensor, and when it blows off, the ECU will be injecting the wrong amount of fuel into the cylinders. The engine temporarily runs extremely rich, meaning too much fuel is injected into the cylinders.
Sound About right?

Lol of course all the tools are out :P

Got no backfiring at all so it cant be running rich. Its wierd as.

Yeah stock valve is back on... Not sure whether to bin the gfb or not?.. What are the other possible bov culprits that are able to work with our user-friendly AFM?
