anyone considered that the BOV isn't working and it's open under load bringing in unmetered air, hence lean and then pinging??

Well well..I just spent the last hour and a half at RT with the car on the dyno.

It's not pinging, but Ecutek is pulling timing at the top end of the power range.
My car made 186kw atw on PSI's dyno, on RT's dyno it made 194kw atw. Huh!?

Lane thinks the problem may be the uppipe. So back on Wednesday morning for a looksee. If it's stuffed, i'll grab an aftermarket uppipe from them. $275 + GST + fitting.

Different dyno, different day = 8kw's diff - no big deal.

Ok guys, BOV is in.. Seems to be goin fine and thats at full atmo. Something wasnt right but oh well.

Only thing is a bit of backfiring and some stuttering when stopping at the lights, all normal enough.

if ecutek is pulling timing out, then maybe the map is too aggressive, or the knock-correction is to sensitive?

If its pulling.. its pinging.. simple.. (remember ecu is just a logic gate)

Was Lane using knock detection gear or just his ears?

I'm not sure Pete. He had a lot of equipment out.

He said the car was fine, after a few power runs it didn't pull timing anymore.
I'm gonna get under the car today to see if i can find anything. The noise is driving me batty.
