I always drive with the lights on simply to be seen better not to give the hurry up. ( Suprising how well a black pig dissapears into the background on a bright sunny day from straight in front )

Unless it is heavy traffic most see me well before I get to them and move over. Think most people it is more a case of not even looking to see you. The lights catch their attention and gives them a mental jog of what they should be doing.

Never flash unless I am getting highbeamed from an oncoming car or overtaking on a single lane each way road at night ( just to get their attention especialy with road trains or caravan )

Me too. I live rurally though, so it is a basic safety device for us down here.

Also, everyone in the oncoming lane will think there's a multinova up ahead!

Yep driving with lights on 24/7, although apparently driving lights are the same as fog lights to the authorities and that is illegal, although it has saved me from the odd close call and warns drivers in general. Sense no make.

That doesn't make much sense at all, considering they run ad campaigns on GWN telling people to drive with headlights on during the day whilst in the country?

I should clarify, when i say driving lights, i do mean the additional single beam lighting, often mistaken as fog lights.

Fark yeah i'd move if I saw your scoop; cars, including mine, will get sucked in!
Otherwise, I've been actually in the habbit of driving with lights on in general. Sure, your globes will go quicker (how does replacing two globes in each headlight +two parker globes in 9 months sound?) but it's absolutely worth it!
I have found that if you're even doing 110k's in the right hand land on the freeway and you have your lights on, people DO see you coming up a little faster from a while away and move over, rather than sit there.

Lights on all the time really does work. Otherwise if someone's not moving and they really should, i'm not an asshole about it: I'll sit closer than normal to someone's tail for a few seconds with a couple 'really closer than normal' moves just to not be rude and give them the idea. if they dont move, flashes FTW

I drive with my lights on during the day if traffic is slow, I get a lot of dudes doing 60km/hr in the right hand lane down Wanneroo Rd. In Eastern Europe headlights are a must as the imaginary third lane rule comes into play, you misunderstand, you die, sad but it happens.

Everyone will laugh at this, but flashing high beams at people is illegal in WA. Since the cops were pissed off about people flashing when there was a radar trap ahead, the police have taken the letter of the law of high beams (i.e. must be greater than ~200m away otherwise it is an offence).

Basically it is because people in WA aren't taught how to drive properly and select lanes properly we have these issues.

I think every one should go and drive in China/Manila/Bali. They only use a horn and lights and thats how they drive. A 3 lane rd becomes 5-6lanes and yet no accidents. I would not like to drive like that but there is so much to learn from them guys. Last week we stoped on a freeway way to change 4 lanes as we almost missed the turn off and the cars behind just stoped and let you go. Try that here and you would be rooted.
At least we have road rules which most poeple stick to but we can learn from the way they let each other in and nothing is a problem. A lady crossed a rd about the size of the mitchell Fwy and all she did was put he hand up to tell the cars to slow down. She was stuip but it works.
