Man, someone needs to cull half the crap out of this thread. lol.

Winter is definately crap to stay motivated....

For those interested, I recommend a phone app called endomondo. It is available for most phones and will track your outdoor exercise and show you the route on google maps.

It even works out calories (probably not as accurate as a Polar / Garmin watch though).

What times are you doing your 5Km runs in? I'm just getting 25minutes for 5k now which I reckon is pretty good. That's on a tready though, so might be a little uncalibrated compared to real road.

I started running earlier this year. I was sick of being unfit!! I used to be very good at athletics and sports etc during school but lost it all afterwards (isn't that the way?). So back into it now.
5ks around the Kalamunda hills = 26.5min average. my area has a good mix of hills and flats which is great.

Training for the 12k City 2 Surf. Who else is doing it?
+1 on a pdiddy bridges run

I run 5.2 kms around Mt Lawley/ Inglewood and my best time is 22:52 at the moment. But that was on a very good day.

I also plan on doing the 12km city to surf run. I think I need to actually run the route one day to see how I cope.
I am meeting a friend or two on friday at around 6 to 7 pm at the riverside drive car park near the causeway (the one where the bicycle hire is) to run over the causeway to the narrows and back if anyone is keen to come and join?

so i was going for a recovery run after hockey last night and about 7 mins in i thought of this thread and got competitive and pushed hard for the remainder of the 5kms and ran a 22:45...felt fairly comfortable considering i played hockey last night.

personally i cant get enough of exercise in winter, its so much easier in the cool.

anyone else beating PB's?

Best 5 Km run to date on the treadmill is a 22.10. Just getting back into it again now. Thinking of doing the Busselton triathlon next year May. Have to try and work out how i will go for time to train etc 1st. Otherwise may team up and go as a team.
