What sort of speeds are people actually getting? I hear 20mbps then hear 2mbps...
Their acceptable use policy pretty much says that unless you are running an ISP off the connection then you won't ever be shaped.

As for speeds, all depends on where you are located and how far you are from the nearest base-station but I have a few different mates who all get around 9mbps, and one who gets 17mbps (although he does live in Northbridge so I'd imagine he'd be fairly close to a few base-stations).

Anyway, my home-gateway arrived about an hour ago so I'll fire it up later on and let you know how it goes....

OK just plugged it in at home (Yokine) and it gets around 17Mbps. At my mates place in Kiara (Beechboro) it got around 9Mpbs.

Setup of the home gateway was nice and easy, just plug it into the power, connect to either Ethernet or WiFi, fire up your browser and it will open up a web page where you confirm your address details (so 000 emergency calls know where to send whoever you need) and payment details and your away.

I'm going to change over my home phone as well. Means I can get rid of Telstra finally not to mention $11 or $22 per month line rental (the $22 per month plan comes with free local and national calls and free international calls to 8 countries and 22c untimed international calls to another 13 countries with the rest at 2.1c per minute)

So I give it a big thumbs up!!
