Although I'm sure Velocity only allows 5Mbps upstream but I could be mistaken.

you should see my hard wired Media PC on a good day.. second day I tested it I sat at 45Mbps..
My plan is the fastest plan Telstra has, 50gb downloads and up to 94Mbps speeds. I am yet to see anything like that yet. Bouncing off the 50Mbps limit on initial start up for the speedtest.net is as high as I've seen Fibre connection FTW :P |

Fark that's pretty slow for velocity Kym!
This is what I'm getting. However I'm sick of using my 50GB allowance in 1 or 2 days so I may just try this Vivid unlimited plan as we are apparently in a little square of coverage in a sea of no coverage. So I'll be watching this thread closely however over on whirlpool people are already experiencing multiple drop outs and slow speeds daily.

I see youre in Cannington. I live in the 'Vale, (C'Vale), and can bring my lappie/usb modem over if u want a 'real time' trial/test at your place, before u spend some scratch. I am/was with 3 Mobile BB, and rarely see over 1Mb, (D/L), whereas with Vivid, depending on how busy network is, worst was around 4-5Mb, best around 10Mb, if not more. I give it 3 thumbs up. Brent.

In these days, you don't really need an ISP email. Easier to have a gmail/hotmale that you can move around with.

Sure Kato I agree but has pretty much been industry standard that with any provider there is a mail account to go with it - just wanted to give everyone the heads up. Vivid was my mates only option with Telstra refusing to upgrade his pair gain phonline to enable broadband so he's happy.

In CVale as well. Agreed with previous post anything between 4mbps to 9mbps, just used speedtest and got 5mbps.... seems to work fine thus far.
Beats my 1.3mbps I had before and no doubt better than nothing which is the only option where I am. At $75/mth unlimited.... bang for your buck! The customer service not to bad either. Took a while to work out why laptops could not work, but its all sorted. Just to need to enq how the phone service works. |
