Sorry for the 101 questions, just good to have someone who can factually answer them rather than internet myths.

(When will you know the 2012 pricing too )
LC improves the 0 - 100 time by about 0.6 sec and a few years back I know US Nissan were refusing to replace blown gearboxes after checking the data from the 'blackbox' which confirmed LC had been used. Not sure what their stance is now and they have been changes to the LC.

Correct, if Nissan see that LC has been switched on (so traction control off) the warranty is voided. Unless it as a mistake, then it's possible to make a good-will claim. Generally Nissan have been pretty good, especially early on when the LC box issue was not known about.

^ Good questions. Talking to North Side Nissan this morning he informed me that warranty is most definitely voided if you use the LC -

Still the case? Not sure I see the point in having a button that instantly voids the warranty on a $180k car and the fact that it has been used can be traced.

I still find it amazing that a manufacturer can have a launch control function and then state your warranty is voided if you use it. FFS then don't supply it with LC feature.

It's almost as stupid as advising owners "the car red lines at 8000 but the warranty is voided if you go past 6000 RPM".

It's not actually. You'll find no where does Nissan refer to launch control in the older R35 GTR's nor tell you how to engage it.

They do tell you not to turn the traction control off except to get out of mud or snow or something.

The internet has told people how to engage the function. The way I see it, it is like having a 6000rpm redline on the tacho, but by flicking a couple of buttons it gives you the 9000rpm 'real' redline, but you have no warranty pushing the car like that.

Check out every review of the Evo X with a TC-SST box. Not one of them uses launch control to get off the line and complains that is it's major weakness. I'm willing to bet that is an instruction from Mitsu, not a lack of skill from all the reviewers.
