I'm looking at getting into diving, where would you guys recommend I go get my ticket?
NOR would be preferable.
Also, I wear glasses, what's the deal there?, do you get a mask made up with prescription glass?
Cheers

Diving frontiers in Balcatta have a groupon deal going for the PADI Open Water course - give them a call.

You can get prescription lenses or wear contacts if they're an option for you.

In sidemount with 2 tanks? Unfortunately not. If you were to run single sidemount, it'll open up a few opportunities around Marmion, but be warned it's an extremely rocky entrance/exit and must be timed extremely well and only on a dead calm day. Also boy in a boat behind Hillary's, but again, don't attempt with two tanks.

I lived in Kingsley for most of my time in Perth, and so tried to explore most of the NOR shore entry spots but the big kicker is the rocky entrance to most reasonable sites anywhere north of the city. So despite having the sea only five minutes down Hepburn Ave, I did nearly all my shore entry SOR.

Seriously though mate, give a single taknk sidemount dive a whirl, or at least test it out in the pool. You'd be surprised how comfortable it is, and there's not that many places around Perth you need 4~5000ltrs of air

LOL I'll never use 2 cylinders if I'm diving with others on a single cylinder, just more concerned with even distribution of weight. Have a pool at home though so not that hard to give it a try I suppose.

It's like carrying a stage cylinder in backmount twins or even in sidemount, you very quickly adjust to it. It's tucked up so close to your body (or at least should be), that you don't have a huge amount of roll, and because most SM wings pull around the body, balance is very easily maintained. In a Hogarthian style SM harness you really only need to add a couple of KG of lead to offset only carrying one tank now too.
