guys if you swim every single day, and swim hard for like an hour you will lose weight, tone up and build muscle. Eat often and stay away from mcdonalds and other shit, even subway is ok. Your metabolism will go up and you will get there... all the other stuff about carbs and shit will cut corners, the fact is you have to work hard.

6 small meals a day works, especially important to consume meal 1 as soon as you wake up - this raises your metabolism for the whole day so you have the whole day to burn calories.

Cardio works too but it also slows down muscle growth quite substantially, even muscle loss if it's performed too frequently.

Some simple guides to go by:

daily calorie intake < daily calorie expenditure = fat-loss

insufficient calorie intake = body goes into conservation mode and stores fat quicker

small frequent meals = increased metabolism + body goes into non-conservation mode = fat-loss + sustained energy

large infrequent meals = lowered metabolism + body goes into conservation mode = fat-gain + fluctuating energy levels

I try to eat a balance of stuff throughout the week with some pasta, greens, meat is a must.
training is 3-4 times per week with some walking, hiking, running after my little girl some swimming in between.

coke is a no no, but is one thing that is not easy for me to give up.

not easy to get motivation each time.

buff for summer, no more t-shirts at the beach.

Yeah alright, hurt my knee a few months ago and haven't been able to run much since.

Almost as soon as I stopped running, I started putting on mass quite quickly. Put on 4kg of muscle since I hurt my knee about 3 months ago, just over 1kg a month so quite alright. A lot quicker than when I was running 8-12km daily, was struggling to put on more than 0.5kg a month.

Not too happy with the progress though, lack of cardio means it's kinda loose, too much bodyfat, gotta start running again soon if only my knee would heal.

ITBS is a bitch.

How's everything going in the land of the free?

Whilst in the Army in the 90's, they done a survey on thousands of new recruits doing a fuck load of exercise daily and found NO benefit of stretching before exercising, this was done over a few years. It was found to benefit after exercise.

Stretching before exercises helps raise body temperature and increase blood flow to muscles, and therefore oxygen levels in the muscle.

If it doesnt do anything to prevent injury, it sure helps in preventing lactic acid buildup, not to mention that you cant perform your best with fatigued, cold, tight muscles..

Cant hurt either way, can it?

apparently you can pull muscles by stretching before excercising muscles as they are cold and you are supposed to stretch after you excercise when I do weights I dont really stretch I will do a few light reps im not recommending anthing though
