You don't need to have an e-tune to use speed density. Surely ASG can tune it for you. There is lots of evidence of Ecutek or verso etc all working reliably and they all use stock ECU. They also have an IAT sensor post tmic.

i dont think ASG can. I was there today and thats not how it was tuned.

Perhaps ecutek dealers can? But that means paying a 1500 dollar ECUtek unlock. May aswell just get a real computer that has added bonus like LC / 2step / ALS / etc.

But it dtill doesnt change anything. its still a hack job to try and get around physical limitations of the stock ECU.

Time to start saving again then....

I think it is the tuner rather than the ECU that causes the issues and introduces the risk.

Mine is tuned by a guy called Graham of Boosted Performance Tuning in the US.

He has been tuning my car for a couple of years now. And before anyone says...why have I recently replaced Pistons... Firstly; it is a 2008 and did a ring land and secondly... The car was driven hard with a change of headers before it had a tune.

ok.

Im not totoally against e-tuners. i did my dads forester xt that way with Eric at torqued performance. But his is bog stock apart from a TBE. I wouldnt go near an e tune with much more than that. Not a friggin chance in hell on a car that is as modified as mine, with virtually every stock part replaced. things happen so fast on a high performance car. and there are way too many variables that could easily brake things. its just way too risky in my opinion.

im just wrapped i beat RJs figures. spooled 400rpm earlier, only 1 more hp, but 50 more epic torques. and did it on 3 psi less boost and with the dreaded 10cm hoising.
