theres a white 02 sti for sale on gumtree.. done just under 200,000km, his asking 16k, surely youd be able to pick it up for around 13k, buy that then buy a new shortie 207 for 2k

i could get a shortie for cheaper than that
 . theres an 2004 sti with 200000 kms on car sales going for 18k. still the kms a a little too high

haha how cheap are we talking then?? i dont know if u saw my build thread but i picked up a short 02 sti 207 for $1950 and that came with a gasket kit aswell from darren at subi parts wa, and that was trade price

not sire would have to find out, i work for subaru so i think it would be a little cheaper.having said that if i were to swap engines i would buy a dead 207, use version 5 sti heads, forged rods and pistons and all the other good bits XD

well ive got a mate at subi wangara and our parts guy at work is mates with subi wangara parts person and they quoted me 3 or 4k for a short block...and that was trade price apparently, but darren was happy enough to offer me trade price even though i work at honda north, would love to know how much ud be able to get it for
then just buy bulk and sell and make some dough

4k are you serious ?, Thats steeeeeeeeeppppppppp.Actually you maybe right, I know subaru dealerships don't really do trade price or discounts. I was told to go threw amcap if I wanted a better price. Is amcap subaru parts wa ?

even then they offered me a long motor 207 with everything assemblied included timing belt for 3k, but dont think that has warrenty, then chinese whipers got around and was told they bench test these particular for 12hrs... so fuck that

3k for a built motor isn't bad, haven't heard anything about 12 hour run in
