40 - Maylands. Its the nice area of Maylands, not the dodgy part.

Its rather annoying as I can't state that the car is kept in a locked fully enclosed garage behind a locked gate in a yard patrolled by a 45 kg dog. Surely that would reduce the quote.

Haaaaahaaaaaa there is your answer champ. I live in sunny Jindalee. Nothing happens here according to AAMI, so insurance is cheap. Purchase on line for best price.

We insured our other car with AAMI too and they said ( bit unethical ) that if we lived three houses up the street the premium would be nearly $150 more expensive because that address has lots of claims linked to it...

Keep shopping around till you get the deal your happy with, I was with Shannons for a while but their crack prices are unacceptable. They don't charge more for monthly payments which is handy.

Cheers.

Poor dodgy Maylands. Just because the TRG went screaming past my house on Wednesday afternoon shouldn't mean I should pay that much to insure my car.

I was pretty sure that was the reason, I'm currently with RAC and that's less than $1000 a year so will stick with them for the moment.

Anyone made a claim with Shannon's?
Wife was stopped at a set of lights last Thursday and was hit from behind by a Mack truck loaded with 25 tonne of dirt. Pretty certain car is going to be a write off, just wanna know how long the process takes so I can start looking for a new car for her.

I made one a couple months ago with Shannon's Corrie. Didn't take very long at all, and they were good to deal with.

At each step I just asked how long it would take, and they were pretty accurate on time frames

We claim through Shannon's and they claim it back through the truck drivers insurance.
