If you are getting mauled why did you opt for a $0 Excess? I bet you actually pay the extra annually enyway so that makes no sense what so ever to me................

Cause as a 2nd 3rd year apprentice wages arnt that good to find say 550 for excess in few days where as I can afford to pay a monthly some, just works out easier for me that's all

just make sure you're going fast enough when you crash so it's a write off, then the excess is just deducted from the agreed value. Easy

Don't let anyone else drive it then... I've only ever let 3 people other than myself drive my car, and that was on a farm with nothing to hit & with me in the passenger seat with my hand hovering over the handbrake.

I'd be tempted to say save what you'd spend on comprehensive & just get 3rd party, fire, and theft. 3 years of saving and you'd have $7-9k cash in the bank - much more useful than being told your excess is $660 for windscreen replacement when glass is $440 or having to pay $2k just to have your car assessed.

Windscreen should be free once a year no matter of age?

Since when are you charged to be assessed post accident?
