i recently had the issue with my car when coming on load after about 10-15 minz of driving.. turned out to be one of the leads to the spark plugs not connecting right.. changed over to a commodore lead temp and its all good.. have a new set on order to change all of them

Perhaps the genuis call was a little early.

Tried a AFM that is known to work.

Also found the oxygen sensor was unplugged and went hey! that might be something.

Plugged it in, went for drive. While cold car drives perfect, second its got some heat into it, apply throttle, and it coughs and stutters.

It is not a misfire kind of stutter, it just refuses to accept big throttle inputs. Unplugged the afm to see if that worked, nope.

So ive taken the battery off over night, see if an ecu reset helps.

Frustrating.

It the earth strap from the rear of the block to the pitch stopper present & plugged in?

It acts as the earthing path for all the electrics on the block side of things.

Water would have evaporated off by now.....may have been a coincidence that it happened after the wash?

Yeah I think it was going to happen regardless of wash or not.. period of time from mine to car wash to stutter is similar to every time since.

Earth straps are down, saw andy attach them.

Stace, I've had a dead coilpack in my old skyline - that is a pronounced and systamatic break down of ignition, you can stand on it, and it will hiccup constantly.

Once this begins, it takes less and less throttle input to get it to go into a surge like effect where it wont pickup the throttle and build pressure.

Its a wierd one.
