But each shock is normally shock dyno tested with matched spring rate. If u change spring rate, u might not get the performance u r after.
According to AU distributor after contacting the manufacturer's engineers, moving up the spring rate by 2kg is allowed and the coilover doesn't need to be revalved.
Said if I was going any higher they would get one custom made for me overseas and shipped over as it would need different valving.
Going 8/7 from 6/5 is still within range and doesn't require a special order from factory, so should be allright with the shock delivering the performance.

How did your car feel with 7/7 then 8/8? bit harsh with 8/8 I'm guessing?

He would have seen a fair share of Subaru's coming through the door with an array of suspension setups.

I've run HSDs in the past with either 7/7 or 8/8 and now run 6/6 (non coilover setup).

Most of the time it wasn't bad, it felt like it would skip going over bumps in the rear until I wound the rebound down.
Some roads were a massive PITA and made you want to bypass them.

Might be worthwhile trying to find some one with a similar setup in the same year car and going to a test drive with them.

Well coilovers are usually adjustable, so I'd say that you can have them at height that suits.....
