Talking

Lucky I had my beer goggles near by otherwise I wouldn't have been able to see MSR's pics clearly.

Looking good Gav, will be watching the progress with excitement.

The 'Titanium' retainers are like 99% aluminum plus 1% titanium.
The tapered hole through the centre can stretch and allow the two retaining collets to pass through.... with it all ending in tears.....& rooted heads/bent valves...steel has been good for 240+ k on mine so I'll stick with them he he.

I've got plenty of WRX Heads Gav, only bits and pieces of STi heads though.

If you're getting them ported and installing new valves and camshafts, don't waste money on STi heads, you're only after the bare casting.

Geez it's hard to get good head these days

I thought I had a set to pick up from JWS but they turned out to be normal 99 WRX heads.

I scoured the net today and have sourced a set of rebuilt/freshened V6 Sti heads all the way from the UK, so when these arrive I am ready to go, engine turns up this week and have all other parts ready.

Second last piece of the puzzle turned up today, only 4 days from the UK.

I've also bought the twin scroll sump kit from Jap Parts so I can keep my existing motor as a whole unit, just waiting on the KillerB oil pick-up and the work can start.

Need to get my cams installed, then we should be able to get the motor, heads etc together.

motoring along man, nice stuff.

4 days from UK is also v.impressive, its taken me a lot longer to receive stuff from the Eastern States.

Any reason for choosing an aftermarket pickup against the factory 'would factory fit the TS sump kit you bought?'.

Just the quality of the pick-up, covering all bases - there are examples of failed OEM pick-ups, the killerb pick-up will fit the twin scroll sump, this is the same sump the 2.5's have anyway in the USA.

cheers
