Pinging Rev Limiter and gear not engaged is the best bet, no evidence of smoke/clutch smell, then what else could it be?

I tried launching my Bug and failed, I didn't violently drop the clutch, slowly released it, and burnt it up a little bit, mind you It was only being launched at 4.5K....as said, sidestep at high RPM, that way, driveshafts and driveline don't snap, but wheels spin

agreed, needs more vids of pinging limiter launches

So after reading all that, how are you suppose to launch? is it 4.5, 6 or Limiter? and 5 speed is better right? Oh and when side stepping clutch, does it make a difference if you have heavy duty clutch or stocker? Kthx

ps find out what the problem was, I wanna know

There's an art to it. Lots of people fuck it up. Get some proper advice, there's way too much sarcasm in this thread to gain any real knowledge.

ie; You don't sidestep, never, ever. You don't use the limiter unless it's set up to be at a lower r/min while stationary as per launch control.

Sidestepping, clutch kicking, compression locking, flat shifting are all dumbass bogan techniques that have no place in a WRX. (yes, I'm old, yes I've done them all in my stupid youth)

I will recommend tp you what we call the catapult launch in Japan. Hold up the handbrake and launch it at 6000-7000rpm and release the handbrake.

Pls note: depending on the type of clutch you are using, you should try lauching from 4500rpm and slowly move upwards the rpm range to a pt that you are confident in launching well and with which the clutch is comfortable with.

To put it simply. No. Not 3 times.
Either this fellow didnt lift his left foot at all or he cant smell the clutch he just destroyed.
