Maybe you didn't push the gearstick hard enough and it didn't engage. Always make sure you ram it into first and second as hard as possible, especially when dialing up high revs

Owned it for almost a year, had an engine pop within 2 months of owning it, only driving 2,000kms- didnt even go past 5k rpm. Same week my new engine went in, it was stolen. So i've babied her round like a bitch =D Thought fk it, lets see what the fuss is all about and it failed miserably first time.

I didn't even think about that, it felt like the gearstick was engaged into gear, as for when it took off, it may have even slipped into first, as i shifted down/up into second pretty quickly as it was only a short street.

I was being a smartarse, but trying to launch without the gear engaged is full of LOL

ps don't ram it into first and second

6k launches are where its at. Not 4.5k

Regardless of what you've done this is simply full of LOL.

The thought of someone on the road, in a Subaru turbo, engine bouncing of limiters, slamming it through the gears and NOT MOVING is simply sublime.

Is it possible for the gearbox to fool you- i.e. not actually in gear but a 'false neutral'? I had this experience on a motor bike but the gearboxes are quite different.
