Fact of the matter is that everyone is different.
Some poeple want muscle, some poeple want to lose weight. Each one has a totally different diet, you can't really compare something that worked for one person to another. I hate having a fairly slow metabolism though, i have to be really careful what i eat and work like a bitch in the gym. Regardless of specifics though, if you want to lose the beer gut, cut out the fatty foods, exercise regularly, drink lots of water, as hard as it is resist the temptations and give it a few months and you'll be set. I've found that it get's kinda addictive once you get a rythym going and you begin to see results. Oh and yes, WiiFit and Sexcercise helps too.

ive seen the effects of hydroxicut on various people. used in the right way, with diet and exercise, it does actually work. I have considered taking it to kick start my weight loss.

on a side note, just got back from the gym, by myself.
Did 11km (20mins) on the bike at 128bpm heart rate (recommended heart rate for "fat burn" for my age) Did 10mins on the air walker stepper thing (killed me) did 3 sets of 12 reps of 30kg bicep curls did some pushups and situps (actually suprised i could still do them) swam 10 laps of the pool at pace (7 laps freestyle, 2 laps breaststroke, 1 lap butterfly) i feel all exhausted, which is good... same again tomorrow, maybe a steady increase in length... Your body produces creatine at small doses. Putting more into it has had negetive effects on 3 of my former work mates. 1 has now got diabeties, wheather it was a contriubuting factor noone knows. Its also recommended that you take regular breaks from taking creatine in rotations. Agreed polar, if it works for you, do it. I reckon everyone can get fit without it, just depends on your mental discipline. Working out and getting fit is not just a physical thing.
Good on you Kym. Just stick to it. No matter what, make it your number 1 priority. Let next to nothing come between you and exercise (besides really important stuff) and after a while, running 5km's a day becomes a norm. Just dont make excuses for having too many days off, rest is good in small qantaties.

alcohol is fine, in small doses, and as long as you drink "light spirits" ie: vodka etc... but they recommend, only drink if you really have to. Beer is so high in carbs its not funny, and will always cause you to gain weight.. if you have to drink beer, try pure blonde (low carbs)
