Ross doesnt know what he is talking about.

For a 205 without any cams or headers or anything else be nuts to go anything but the VF34.

If you want the "punch" then go a VF30.
Rossco likes this.

just dont want to fit something & finds it runs out of puff & if its anything like the power delivery of my old evo, im not interested.

this guy didnt list cams with his td06 but im not sure how different a 03 wrx engine in regards to cams is from a 01?

My VF30 on 1 bar made ~200kw @ all 4, and certainly had no troubles up top. Unopened 205 with ecu, exhaust fmic really. Certainly found the wrong side of 200 with ease when wanted.

Problem is a TD06 needs boost to be effective. You dont have the pistons to smash the boost in to make the power.

So you will then have to limit boost -on 1 bar its going to make maybe 230kw, but be so doughy your going to hate life. It will come with a rush, but the reward wont be worth the wait. You also dont have a 6 speed to row gears to keep it anywhere near on song, and if you treat your 5 speed like a 6.. well there will be wanted ad for a gearbox soon.

Comparing an Evo to a WRX ends with "4wd turbo japanese 4 door" - the way they deliver their power, especially post mild mods its totally different. Never an Evo, but I have spent plenty of time around a few guys who have been there and done that - from exhaust and tune, to full build carbon door race cars.

Why ask for an opinion if you don't want to listen to the responses?

Not getting a sandy vag, but everyone has said the same thing.

Let me get this straight, you want something thats got no power/torque down low in the rev range because when it gets high in the rev range you don't want it to run out of steam before you hit limiter?? And thus be restricted anyway?? if you aren't going to spend money on engine mods to be able to put in big boost, then why go a big turbo?

This means you will have like 1.5 - 2 seconds and about 2000 rpm of 'stuck in chair' boost before needing to change gears and then by the 2nd shift you are already breaking every speed limit in Australia?

If you prefer this this than having a usable torque spread over the whole rev range then be my guest. but how is this 'fun' ill never know..
Peeps be on crack....

Is this a daily street car or track car you are doing this for?
