It's not so much the extra effort. From what I gather, equal length headers make more power. I wanted the HKS turbo, this has the twin scroll flange, so I made the other parts suit.

My belief is that the HKS will make good power and torque, and although it's not true twinscroll, I believe it will have more benefits over a single entry, single scroll, but less benefits than true twinscroll. Bit of a in-between I guess

Quick update, for those who are watching.

Things got away quite smoothly today on the car. Until we tried to put the twin scroll up-pipe into position. How much fun that was . But Warick got it sorted out pretty quick.

So I have a information and a few pics of what happened today, and thought I would share them.

1. Inter-cooler off
2. Engine oil dropped and Spec C sump kit installed
3. VF35 turbo out
4. Old standard headers & up-pipe removed
5. New twin scroll headers & up-pipe installed
6. Began to take of the inlet manifold to get to a faulty cam position sensor I have.

The sump was a pain due to the location of 4 bolts on the rear of the sump which were difficult to get too. Had to undo the engine mount bolts and jack the motor up a little.

We also needed to jack up the motor again to get the headers in. At one point I honestly thought that they were not going to fit between the head and the cross member, but we got there in the end.

All in all I think it was a very productive day. Comparing the size of the 2 turbos was a good sight, you can really see how big this turbo is compared to the standard VF35. I am really looking forward to hearing this thing spool up

A massive thanks for today to Mao and Warick at Evolution R I was able to learn a heap of information about my car today.

I am off back up to work tomorrow morning for 2 weeks, so hopefully Mao will take some pics for me and keep the thread updated.

Pictures of the HKS GT 2835 V's IHI VF35. A bigger difference in size than I actually thought.

Another shot of my car too from yesterday.

Ahhh I miss the old girl - Still my favorite car I have owned so far :3 Glad she ended up with someone who is putting in the coin it deserves and not some rich kid wrapping it around a pole.
Needs the lip back on though :P

My bad,

I know jEstEr, I can even remember you advising me of this when I was talking about having work done 9 months ago. To be honest, I ran out of funds really. Spending another $500 on ceramic coating was just not a reality. Hopefully it will still be ok.

Hey man how things?

I like the lip too, the only reason I removed it was so I can get up my driveway Once the coilovers go in, I should be able to raise the height of the front a little, to allow the lip to go back on and clear the kerb on the driveway Filing that, I might need a new driveway.

Awesome work. Dont worry about the ceramic coating. Get them wrapped if you can. Its just as good if not better.

Hey Russ. I was going to heat wrap them but have been told by a few people it can lead to cracking of the headers?

Cheers also for your comments on the car, will be interesting to see what numbers this set up will give on my car. There are varying numers on different cars with similar set ups. I am hoping for around 340 ish at the whells and 430 ish of torque. More Importantly though, a nice solid strong power and tourque curve.

Guess we will all find out next week sometime once it's tuned
