Let us know how you go with the SARD injectors. I got SARDs in my car. Power wise it is fine, but the injector spray isn't great so my fuel economy is really shitty.

Seriously, why. Decap standard injectors for 816cc and they are better than SARDS. I just removed the jerks.

Why?

Because I could not find conclusive information either way on decapping. Plus my injectors have 150K on them, so I was not sure on integrity, especially after cleaning them. Sure, everyone on here recommends it and uses them, but after looking on a few other forums, I decided to get something specific for my application.

This was also something I had spoken too in great detail with Warrick, the tuner at Evolution R. He had tuned with the sards before, so it was a no brainier for me really.

Would the decaps been ok? Probably. Do I have the option of using decaps? Sure I do, I still have the pinks in un capped form.

I wanted to do some testing of my own, so i decided to get some parts and with the help of Mao, do some testing on injectors and inter-coolers etc.....

I can always sell on what I don't use Russ.

Its not that i don't believe what people say on here, or on their experiences of using decaps. But, as I am sure you are aware, conflicting information is in abundance on the internet and I have decided to do what I think is right to do.

Its all about testing and having fun for me, nothing more, nothing less

Do you mind posting up links to the negatives of decaps?

As I have personally seen the flowtest of my old ones vs stock 550cc's, curious to see what factual evidence people have against them.

What injector size do you have Russ? THESE are the ones I got, specific to the GDB, well that's what it says in the advert

When you say bad fuel economy, what do you classify as bad?

I typically get around 280km between refills (55L). So I am averaging around 19.6L/100km with fairly sedate city driving. Thats pretty shit IMHO for only 340hp.

fek, thought I had bad km's

I was getting just over 420km on stock tune with VF35.
After VF34 @ 1.7bar and decaps, Im now on 380-400km per tank city and freeway driving. If I floor it where I go that would be a different story.

Hey Kato,

I have had a quick look and cant find any more than this. Although I am sure I found more, I think there was something on IWSTI, but cant find it now. Also not all of my information came from the net, it was also by talking to people also.

I can still do the decaps if I want, but I now have a set of sards to compare to. I really don't want to get into a discussion about if I have done the right thing or not buying the sards. As I said before, I have done what i think is right given the information I have found.

That is shit. Are you running standard ECU? I ask this in terms of dead time and injector lag time? I don't believe this can be messed with on a standard ECU? I might be wrong on this though.

Sorry Mister Two,

I called you Russ before. Sorry I typed the wrong name. What size injectors do you have?
