I will run it in over a week or so, by purposely doing the required amount of k's. I do around 4000ks a year due to working away.

So I put in my lightened flywheel, new pressure plate & 4 puck ceramic clutch today. All in all, everything went really well, as I managed to get everything done in 8 hours.

I used a DIY from IWSTI, which helped heaps.

I used Mmates place in Forrestfield, which was really good. I am amazed at how much differently the car drives now. The clutch is pretty much on or off, but the car is heaps more responsive. I can really tell how much quicker the car revs now & gets onto boost. I never thought a lightened flywheel would make such a big difference.

Really looking forward to Wednesday at the drags to see what difference it has made.

Photos show old flywheel in place & how close the old clutch disc was from not functioning at all

Can I ask how light is the flywheel?
Still iffy as to stick with oem or lighten fly when I eventually change my clutch in few weeks time.

E85 lets you wind in more timing without the risk of pinging, ie more power & less lag.

You need to run a setup capable of supporting E85. Most of the fuel system your going to be running should do the job fine, just make sure you eliminate all rubber from the fuel system by using teflon or solid fuel lines.

I'm going to be running purely on E85, if its not a daily then why not.

Have been told rubber ( stock ) is fine by two workshops, was going to go the braided Teflon but was told to save my money.

Really? Everyone I've spoken too suggested to change them and I don't want to run the risk of a hose split.

I have read many for and against arguments for Teflon vs rubber hoses. It seems a fair few of the skyline boys have been running a 50/50 mix of 85 and 98 for a while now (2 + years) with no real detrimental effect to their lines.

So it seems people are getting away with 50/50 mixes of the fuel, but I am sure eventually, injector o rings will begin to leak. But until this is proven, maybe a 50/50 mix is the way to go for most people. I just cant be arsed mixing it.

If your car is fairly new, the rubber components are much better and able to withstand the ethanol content opposed to an older leaded based vehicle.

My whole fuel system has been designed around E85, from the Teflon braided lines to the 2000cc injectors. i just have to change 8 o rings on my injectors now & I should be good to go.

The only issue I am going to have, is the need to drain my tank of the fuel every time i go to work, as it goes off pretty quick.

I think the standard flywheel weighs around 8.5 kg The Exedy one is just under 5 kg
