It supprised the shit out of me too. I also didn't realise how many bolts held the thing down.

When I put it on the scales it was 8.7kg. That's not to sat my bathroom scales are 100% correct, but just by lifting the weight of the thing, its pretty close to that weight.

I was also supprised to find out that the WRX wheels like these (tyres on rim when weighed, so there may be a slight varience)

WRX weighed 2kg less than my STI ones. 17.5 kg for the WRX & 19.6 for the STI.

I am not sure if the extra 2 kg is in the tyre or not, unless I had 2 bare rims I guess I wont be able to find out for myself.

EDIT: Actually I just remembered, it will be in the rim with and the tyre size, as both rims are not the same. WRX 7" wide 205 tyre & STI 7.5" with a 225 tyre.

Just wanted to collate together the beginning my motorsport videos. I have done the drags 3 or 4 times now in the STI and have so far managed a best of 12.71 @ 103.9 mph. The videos for this with a couple of others below.

I attended my first motorkhana style event yesterday at the Midvale Speed dome. I really enjoyed it, even if I did go the wrong way on the track on one of my runs. Couple of my videos below from this event.

Awesome Vids Simon, looks like the car is shaping up the way you want it to.

looks like in the motorkhana vids you managed to keep the engine on noise most of the time!

Excellent work!

Not sure to be honest, I believe my quickest run would have been my 4th but I was the last car of the day to run and did not get the time. I have just checked & the official times have not been posted yet. I know I ran a 78.XX on my first run & a 77.XX on my second run. I got lost on my 3rd run, as as I said before I did not get the time for my 4th run, but I think it would have been the quickest one.

I do not expect super quick times as it was my first ever event like this. I think a 73.09 was the quickest for the day, so I did quite well I think, especially as the car was in full street trim, spare & all.

Looking forward to doing as many events as I can next year

Yeah it is Dave, I had so much fun yesterday. The car still under steers really bad, but I knw I can fix this with a rear sway bar.

I (with the help of Darren, cheers mate !!!) even took all the Dynamat out of the car this arvo to get the weight down

Drags on Wed night again

Nice vids Simon! Midvale looks like good fun. And good work with the 1/4 mile runs. Looks like you've pretty much perfected the art of launching
