Might want to lower your AFR's above 1.3 bar ....... 10.7-10.9 is a safer target for the 2.5 on decent ignition timing.
Funny u mentioned it. I have a question for u, Rossco. Every time I reset ecu or got retuned, car will run rich, ie 10.8. After ~300km it will lean out by it self to 11.6. I also have fuel injector duty cycle rwading to back this up (94% reduced to 86%). Is this a ecu learnning function in 3rd gen sti? Thx

How did you measure the AFR and was that past 60% throttle?

ECU learning is only ever done in closed loop, if its "learning" in open loop i would be worried.

That said, AFR's in open loop should be pretty spot on as its too late during high demand to correct. When you're on the noise the AFR, Timing, Boost need to be spot on otherwise you're doing damage or not maximizing power.

Fiest of all. I rely on AEM wideband, blitz ecu reader, Torque knock detector (read from ecu knock correction) and TurboXS knocklite (standalone knock analyser).

Only during the very early of this "learning" stage, car has MAX of 4 degree of timing correction (usually two), and always tested on 3rd or 4th pull on WOT. Boost is not adjusted according to Defi gauge.

Car has beening doing this since MMS did my car (which ran 9:1 afr at 102 duty cycle lol, but thats another matter). I never felt power decrease in anyway.

Maybe this is a new generation ecu thing? Anyone has the same gen wrx/sti noticed this?
