I shat my pants i laughed so hard at blacklistedwrx!!!! haven't been on pwrx for a while, but still produces gold!!!

bet he knows all about the motec systems exhaust and stand alone fuel management systems!!!

Come down to Hi-tech Titles blacklistedwrx, bring the falcoon and I will give you runs, with a 1.3l and still chop you!!! and i'll give you a second head start...

on the other note, after breaking a box, I found being gentle and smooth was good, still have glass box in one piece!!! 3.9 ratio.. but i would go for a six speed mate, dog boxes can be good but not really for dialy drivers, unless you like the noise... I do.. ha ha.. smack gears everytime...

Heh. I <3 how power instantly makes you a great driver.

Question to BlacklistedWRX:

1. If you have spend so much coin on this '1000hp XR8' why such shit suspension?
2. If you say we are missing 4 cylinders, why do you also own one?
3. Why do you say you have a '10 second car' and 'will lap us all' yet I don't see any reference to motorsport or track times? If you do, post up some info so people believe your crap and don't think you are some high school wannabe kid.

Edit: And Joh4n.. Learn2drive before getting a new gearbox in. WRX boxes aren't weak as I have proven with the punishment of my old car. But like any car, you can't smash it in and expect things not to break.

Think of it like a girl, gotta ease it in if you want any long term benefits. Smashing it straight in the pooper always leads to issues...

I couldnt agree more. It would seem the old habits truely are hard to change.
think is, AHG, do the instructors really teach/provide guidance or is it just, "ok kids lets see u let it rip"

i dont flatshift, dont launch. but it appears i am prob too quick on clutch release when i am shifting (except first) and obviously now i know do not engine brake that hard! but do AHG days teach u these things?

They will slap you in the head if you drive stupidly.

Releasing the clutch fast will not damage your gearbox. After hundreds of launches, that won't kill your gear box as well (so long as you don't under rev, which puts strain on the drivetrain).

From your description, you tried to down shift at 6000rpm to a lower gear? This would put the gear at some very high rpm, causing issues.

To learn how to 'double clutch' down, put the car at say 3000 rpm and shift normally down to a lower gear. Note what the rpm is. Then when you heel toe and blip the throttle you want the rpms to be at the lower gear rpm. It will then glide in smoothly and cause no jerk to the car. However, being a street car you have synchros which do this for you (synchro gets the gear up to speed as you shift). It's only if you are driving a dog box that it really becomes critical.

But pay attention, if you are at high rpm and try to downshift, you will be beyond the rev limiter... thus issues.

Also make sure you are using an organic clutch and nothing too extreme. Clutches are consumables, gearboxes are not.

LOL, I had a 1000hp shit once after a big night on the Bundy Rum and a kebab

There are more than 20 members cars I can think of here that would towel you and your imaginary 1000hp XR8 which is most likely an auto 3.9L EA with an FPR sticker
